Our jewelry is handcrafted using 100% post-industrial and post-consumer gold and silver, offering an environmentally and socially-responsible choice for jewelry. It is estimated that approximately 20 tons of mining waste (often mercury and cyanide) are generated to produce enough gold for one ring! Wiser Jewelry also uses lab-created gems, which are chemically and physically identical to mined gems, but without permanent pit mine scars on the earth (some are so large they're visible from satellites) or the endangerment of miners' lives.
